At the licensing show, a first look at the new Fantastic Four cartoon was given, care of a poster.

Thanks to Rangerboard for the picture.

Another Non-F4 Thing, but fantastic nevertheless...

The head honcho over here at F411 is a major movie buff, and like George Lucas, loves to make them. Well, his latest effort is "Gary and Sandy III" following the remarkable success of "Gary and Sandy II," which followed... well, nothing since there was never a "Gary and Sandy I." Expect some updates on the film as it progresses through it's various stages of development.

Anyways, F411 is here to give you a first look at the upcoming project by downloading the trailer at the link below. This first teaser trailer was cut together by the film's editor, Dave Travers.

In Response
I don't think I've ever seen this much hate for a movie since... Alone in the Dark, and before that, House of the Dead... and those are Uwe Boll films, so there exceptions. Not sure what I'm missing that people don't like about F4, but I guess I'll just have to wait for July 8th and see the movie in theaters. The nitpicking of F4 has reached a new high, but only time will tell the quality of Fantastic Four movie. As Red Grant from the AICN feedback section states... "I'm reserving judgement until I actually see the finished film. Crazy *expletive* concept. I know." Thanks for visiting Fantastic411...

According to the Comics Continuum, Michael Chiklis, who plays Ben Grimm/The Thing in the upcoming Fantastic Four movie, said he enlisted the aid of a pyschiatrist to help get through the trauma of wearing the Thing suit.

"They wanted that human element to him, that he was trapped," Chiklis said during an appearance on Independent Film Channel's Dinner for Five over the weekend. "So, I was the right guy. I was in that 60 pounds of sh*t and I wanted out bad."

You can read the entire interview over at the Comics Continuum.

New Things Coming
Concerning the LockJaw set images... they'll be up in a few days, and sorry for the delay.

Also, David Gorder, associate producer of the Fantastic Four movie, told The Comics Continuum that the film just finished several days of additional photography in Vancouver with the entire cast.

"We shot some excellent new scenes which will augment the story and add some great and classic character moments the fans will really enjoy," Gorder told The Continuum. "We have headed back to L.A. for the final weeks of post production.

"John Ottman will begin scoring the movie in May, and Tim Story will be selecting a very cool title design for the opening titles as he completes editing and mixing the movie. Expect to see some new one sheet art in the coming weeks as well, as we completed some additional gallery shooting with the cast to promote the movie worldwide on billboards and movie posters."

Stay tuned to The Comics Continuum and Fantastic411 for Fantastic news as it hits.

SuperHero Hype recieved information from Activision about the music featured in the upcoming Fantastic Four movie game.

The songs echo the distinctive personalities and special powers of each of the Fantastic Four Super Heroes.

Tim Story Talks to Wizard
Fantastic Four Director Tim Story held a Q & A session with the folks at Wizard Magazine. You can find the below

Tim Story isn¹t afraid to say it he hates H.E.R.B.I.E., too. Wizard brings you that important detail and much more from a conversation with the director who brings ³Fantastic Four² to movie theaters July 8. Story discusses the family dynamic that is key to the Fantastic Four, cameos in the movie and comparisons to the X-Men films in this exclusive Q&A.

"The tone is lighter in situations but I didn¹t want to make this movie a comedy," Story said. ³We tried to take a lighter approach to it, but there are times especially when it comes to Doom when it gets gritty, and much edgier than you might think.²

Find out more about what Tim Story has to say in Wizard #163, which hits comic stores March 30.

Jessica Alba was just on 'The Late Show with David Letterman' promoting her new film, Sin City, which comes out on April 1. I came in a little late, but she talked about the Rain Forrest and how herself and a few other celebrities, including Kelly Slater (Surfer) and Chris Chelios (Hockey Player), went to Honduras to support the cause. Then, she 'lassoed' David Letterman and talked about her character, Nancy Callahan, in Sin City and showed a clip from the movie. She looked very good on the show, and will probably be back to promote Fantastic Four.

Alba Talks & Wizard Panel Breakdown
Over at SuperHero Hype, Alba spoke about one of her three films coming out in the next few months (Sin City - April 1, Fantastic Four - July 8, Into the Blue - July 15).

'Fantastic Four' couldn't be more different. Fantastic Four is a family movie," Alba said, comparing the two movies.

She says Susan Storm is "a scientist who has a problem expressing her emotions, and her DNA was altered and when she does express her emotions she goes invisible. So when she's screaming she goes invisible, when she's having a melt-down she goes invisible, and she's completely frustrated. And the man that she's in love with ignores her and she goes invisible. So it's very frustrating."

She adds that she hopes July 8th will indeed be Fantastic. "It's a huge movie for Fox and there's a lot of pressure that it does well."

The Comics Continuum has up a full report hightlighting the questiosn asked during the Fantastic Four panel to Chris Evans and Avi Arad. For example... Arad on Doctor Doom: "Doom is the Doom right from the comics. The mask. The power. The madness."

F4 Movie Comic & Wizard World
'Cin' wrote into Aint It Cool News from Wizard World Los Angeles, where Avi Arad and Chris Evans hosted a panel and showed some new footage... some, as the report says, awesome footage!

Highlights: Reed's stretching down a huge building, Johnny yelling "Flame On!" as he turns into a fireball, The Thing vs. truck collision, Doom battling Sue, and The Thing's signature line: "It's Clobbering Time!" (which got the biggest cheers from the audience). During the Q & A, someone asked to see the footage again, and the reaction was just as strong the 2nd viewing. Great stuff. I hope you guys get to see it in some form.

You can read 'Cin's' whole report HERE.

Ioan Gruffudd and Julian McMahon dream about the power to fly. Director Tim Story wishes he had healing superpowers. Producer Avi Arad craves telepathic abilities. Arad said, "It's a big responsibility to have it, but reading one's mind interests me." Story stated, "I don't need much. I don't need to be able to fly. That's not a big deal to me. I just think it's pretty interesting to have a body that heals itself."

At Wizard World in L.A., Marvel editor-in-chief Joe Quesada said that the run of Mark Millar and Greg Land starts in Ultimate Fantastic Four #21."

The KING ARTHUR heart-throb was delighted to discover his MR FANTASTIC costume is specially shaped to bulk the wearer up to superhero proportions.

The 31-year-old says, "I didn't have to do much because it has all been done with visual effects. "For the first time in my life I have pecs, a six-pack and these biceps - it was just great. I wanted to take the suit home with me every night!" he jokes."

"It's 60 pounds of latex rubber from the top of your head to the bottom of your feet," Chiklis said during an appearance on the syndicated Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday. "There's a zipper on the back, with a flap that comes over it, so it can be glued and it can be seamless. And once you're in it, you're in."

Chiklis, wearing a Fantastic Four T-shirt, said the suit drew quite a reaction from his wife Michelle. "She nearly fainted when she saw me in it during the first day of the testing because she's a claustrophobe," Chiklis said.

Article & Interview
USA Today posted an article about the Fantastic Four which stars out...

Since they formed a dysfunctional superhero family in 1961, the Fantastic Four have grappled with all forms of treachery and villains such as the power-hungry Dr. Doom...

USA Today also posted some new pictures forming a square of the F4.

The Hollywood Reporter interviewed Fantastic Four writer Simon Kinberg, who had this to say.

The first people I met when I came out here were the guys at Marvel Films. I love comic books and really wanted to meet them. I loved what they'd done with all those other movies. So I met them three years ago and I said, 'Look, I just want to work with you guys. I want to work with any of your comics.' I actually told them at the time that my dream of all dreams was to work on an 'X-Men' movie and I think Avi (Marvel chief Avi Arad) said he would make happen at some point and, in fact, he has (with 'X-Men 3,' which goes into production in May for Fox). Avi has been really sweet and generous and kind to me and we're constantly talking about things to work on together. 'Fantastic Four' was about two months out of production actually last summer and there was still work left to do on the script. I think they actually had a very good script that the writer had written before me, but there was still work left to do as I guess there always is. So Avi came to me and said, 'Do you want to work on the movie for a little while?' I loved the 'Fantastic Four' comic so I jumped in it and worked throughout pre-production and ended up being the writer during production. They would come to (me) whenever they needed something. I was getting e-mails from Tim Story, the director, from Vancouver every now and again, tweaking a scene, asked for a new line.

"The biggest thing I did on that movie, I think, was transforming the villain of the film. That was an ongoing and continuous process over the span of production because we just needed to make sure that we got the villain right because he is probably the most famous villain in the Marvel universe -- Dr. Doom. It actually was the basis for so many different villains and so many different comic books and even Darth Vader. He's the sort of uber-villain that they needed to make sure they really nailed and Julian McMahon plays him in the movie and did a fantastic job with him. But I was also working on the other characters and the other scenes and the action sequences that always transform as you're suddenly in the space and there aren't walls that are supposed to be walls and stuff like that. That was also a very fun process. I went up to Vancouver a few times to work closely with Tim and the cast. As somebody who was just a huge fan of the comics, it was just a thrill to suddenly see The Thing played by Michael Chiklis actually embodied and walking around was a pretty surreal stunning incredibly exciting thing -- no pun intended." Kinberg particularly enjoyed working with Marvel and Fox on the project. "I loved those guys at Marvel," he said.

You can read the first article over at USA Today and the other at The Hollywood Reporter. On a side note, changed the font so it's a little easier to read... hopefully.

Alone on July 8
Coming Soon is reporting the following news regarding July 8th.

It looks like moving Fantastic Four away from War of the Worlds worked out in the end. Sony announced on Monday that it will release Bewitched two weeks earlier on June 24th. The film, starring Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell, will now face Warner Bros.' The Dukes of Hazzard and Disney's Herbie: Fully Loaded on the new date. That leaves Fantastic Four as the only wide release on July 8th.

In early February, 20th Century Fox moved the comic book adaptation away from director Steven Spielberg's War of the Worlds, which were both scheduled for the Fourth of July weekend. The Tom Cruise-starrer is the only wide release for the holiday frame and gets an early start on Wednesday, June 29, giving it a six-day opening run through Independence Day on the following Monday.

When Fantastic Four first moved, it also faced Universal's The Skeleton Key, starring Kate Hudson, but the supernatural thriller got pushed back to August 12.

Head on over to Coming Soon to view information on all the movies mentioned.

Comic Book Resources has also posted a video game preview of the upcoming game, to be released on the same day as the movie. The preview includes features of the game and a gallery of images at the bottom. Head on over to CBR to check it out.

Comics Continuum posted the following from Kurt Williams, special effects supervisor of the Fantastic Four movie, who said there will definitely be a Jack Kirby influence to the film.

There's a lot of Jack Kirby in the movie and that's one the things that we have to keep looking back at," Williams said. "As I've done these types of films, the one thing that I've always realized is that you always have to have a base book that you go back to, and it's surprising how you¹re constantly, even when shots are coming in from the vendors, you gotta go back to the original material. And we do have some older stuff in here, and there is some Jack Kirby design in the movie from the art department. But once again, you have to put in just enough to call back to that, but it still has to translate to a modern day movie." Williams said not of all of Kirby's exuberance can translate to film.

"You have to be very prudent in what parts of that (comic) you use," he said. "But the ideas translate, and you can sort of get to the point where the audience believes it, but they don't have to see the whole thing, you know what I mean? "You¹re going to feel like he's doing some of this stuff, but it's not always overtly right in front of the camera. Like I say, it's how you shoot it. I think you¹ll believe in their powers when we're done. Those are powers that have been generated from the Jack Kirby days, because even the more modern Fantastic Four comics still go back to Jack Kirby."

Accepting Preorders
The Comics Continuum posted the following:

Julian McMahon, who is playing Doctor Doom in the upcoming Fantastic Four movie, said he is contracted for a sequel.

"I'm signed on to do the sequel, but I really have to be honest with you, the way that I would look at it if I was Fox and those guys, it depends on how well Von Doom is received and how well you could fit him back in again," McMahon said. "It if works storyline-wise and if the audience liked him, I'd say they should bring him back. It would be a no-brainer. "But if they feel like you kind of have done Von Doom and they need to bring in someone else, I can understand that as well. But we'll see." In presenting Doctor Doom for the big screen, visual effects supervisor Kurt Williams said that it will be done mostly with prosthetics until toward the end of the film.

"When he fully escalates into full Doom, he has this power that he sort of controls the energy in the room and the electricity, so there¹s a lot of scenes where he drains the energy in the room and the lights come down," Williams said. "At the end, that power is sort of his own doing. He grows just like the other characters do.

"One of the events of the movie that¹s kind of important is that he¹s a big threat in the movie to the Fantastic Four. And he¹s got a lot of power that really threatens them, as well as the public in New York. So we¹re treating him with an electrical field. We¹ll generate some light sources that come from under his skin, that gives a topical electrical effect with him, it makes it organic, it¹s coming from inside him."

SuperHero Hype recieved word from 'Ekocher' who pointed out that Amazon is now accepting pre-orders for such items as the movie novelization by Peter David, the "Making of the Movie" and many more. Also available for pre-ordering are the action figures.

Reshoots - Next Week
Hollywood North Report is saying that:

Fantastic Four has taken up residence at The Bridge Studios for reshoots right across the street from Vancouver Film Studios where the film was shot last year.

Reshoots under the direction of Tim Story will take place March 9th thru March 14th at the Eastside facility. The studio does boast “North America's Largest Effects Stage” and from what we hear the footage to be reshot and the pickup shots done will be predominantly SFX related. Also, some location work is said to be on the agenda so all you little birdies out there in Greater Vancouver keep your eyes peeled! We’re still not sure what, if any, main cast members will be in town for the week but if we do, we will let you know.

Giant Killer Robots
MSNBC says that San-Fransisco based company, Giant Killer Robots, will be doing some F/X work on Fantastic Four.

Giant Killer Robots' next project, under wraps until today, is the "Fantastic Four," the 20th Century Fox movie based on the Marvel comic strip characters, due out in July. The company's entire staff has been working on the "Fantastic Four" behind tightly closed doors, lest a hint of the onscreen magic should slip out.

The company's credit list includes the "Matrix" sequels, "Blade III," "Scooby Doo" and "Terminator 3."

From The Comics Continuum...

Julian McMahon, who plays Doctor Doom in the Fantastic Four movie, told The Continuum he recently provided voice work for Activision's video game based on the film. "I tell, you that's fun," McMahon said. "Doing that voiceover stuff in the game was really fun."

McMahon said that it "was kind of weird" to see his likeness on toys. "But it's a great part of what it is, the whole franchising, the whole spreading it from the movies to toys or whatever it is," he said. "To me, that was part of what it was when I was a kid. I went and got Darth Vader." McMahon said the toys are "strikingly similar" to his appearance and that they will show the evolution of his character through the movie.

Chris Evans, who plays Johnny Storm/The Human Torch, and producer Avi Arad of Marvel Studios will be appearing at Wizard World Los Angeles on March 19. Arad will be the convention's guest of honor.

Animated Series Release & McMahon
Coming Soon reports that Disney is continuing its trend of releasing the animated series for Marvel comic book characters when their movies hit the big screen. This time, the studio will release The Fantastic Four on DVD July 5th, three days before 20th Century Fox brings the live-action film to theaters.

You can preorder the series at Amazon for the price of $34.99.

You can view information about the series over at TV Tome.

Also, the Comics Continuum posted the entire interview with Julian McMahon at WonderCon where he answers many questions including his previous comic reading, wearing the Doom costume, and the accent of the wretched Doctor.

McMahon also presented some footage from the film. The clip showed Victor in a doctor's office, discussing the metallic transformation that is beginning to take over his arm. The doctor said the transformation would be complete in about 2-3 weeks and that he would have to report Victor's condition to medical authorities. That leads to a violent reaction from Victor.

Ottoman Score Info
SuperHero Hype Forum member LightninStrikez got a response from Fantastic Four composer, John Ottoman, who had the following to say.

Thanks for your email and nice words; not to mention great taste in music! LOL

Well the Fan Four music will be driving like X2, but a little more light, as Fan Four is not as dark as X2. That's about all I know at this point. Just getting started on it. And, no, that music wasn't mine in the trailer.

All the best,

Also, SuperHero Hype got the following, unconfirmed scoop from Fan4 Insider.

The fan4 team left last week for Vancover BC to do reshoots for the film--par the course for 100 minute + film. From viewing the telecine, the film is going to be amazing. prelim CGI is freaking amazing and the story is really strong.

Last up, Comic Book Resources has a report up from Wondercon where Dr. Doom, Julian McMahon, spoke.

Wearing a “Von Doom” label stocking cap, “Fantastic Four” actor Julian McMahon gave WonderCon 2005 attendees a sneak preview of the upcoming summer blockbuster Saturday afternoon.

McMahon admitted to being a lifelong fan of the Marvel super family, rising at 5 am in his native Australia to watch the animated version of the show.

Asked about his research for the part, McMahon said he’d read some issues of the comic, but relied more on bringing the “blatantly evil and indestructible” character in the script to life, rather than relying on a strict adherence to the comic version. At one point, he referred to Victor Von Doom as a “very wealthy, Rupert Murdoch-like person,” bringing a shudder to the Fox representative accompanying him. McMahon quickly corrected the parallel, though, calling Von Doom neither “a villain nor misunderstood,” but rather, a man who is “egotistical, proud, and (who is) losing everything. He’s emotionally and physically distraught” by his “transformation from a man to a monster.”

He said that having to wear his Dr. Doom makeup – ten-hour sessions that were like “the Chinese water torture” – and costume – with its heavy armor, helmet, and cape – “like a sweat box” – helped him physically and emotionally to identify with the character. His appearance – “6’ 4’, like an armored tank” – delighted his daughter, though,

How did he and Thing actor Michael Chiklis get along? Great – “aside from the fact that he’s a prick,” McMahon joked. He and Chiklis are friends, though – both being in hit series on the FX network. In fact, Chiklis phoned McMahon before going on stage at last summer’s San Diego ComicCon. McMahon still hadn’t gotten the part of Dr. Doom, and the “Shield” actor told him, “You gotta get this role, man.”

At the Toy Fair
USA Today had an article about the Toy Fair, and the items which will be on display.

Tied to the summer release of Fantastic Four, The Thing Electronic Hands and Feet are foam appendages that, when attached to a child's own, emit electronic phrases and sounds that mimic, say, the thundering steps of the 500-pound pile of rocks himself.

Sounds something like the Hulk hands which were available during the Summer of 2003 with 'The Hulk'.

New Footage Spotted
SuperHero Hype recieved this report from 'Spiderman2k' in the UK, where they apparently showed an international trailer for Fantastic Four:

Just watching T4 here in the UK and they showed a trailer for Fantastic 4 which I have not seen, it had a orchestral score and new scenes, it took out some of the "4-Ever" phrases from the beginning, the new scenes were just extended scenes of some of the ones from the original trailer, Sue's head being invisible while having dinner with Reed, Ben asking if he can borrow an old ladies car to get the reply "the Transmission sticks" he says "it doesnt matter" and then throws the car like in the end of the original trailer.

Maybe, that footage will show up online soon... I hope.

The images that were posted on this page yesterday, concerning the Game Informer article, were taken down for reasons which we are unable to control. The images will not return to this page... so if you would like to see the Fantastic Four game screenshots, please pick up the latest Game Informer magazine - on News Stands Now! The article, which went along with the screens included a very good editorial on the upcoming game, and even an interview with Fantastic Four movie director, Tim Story. Thank you for your understanding.

The Official Fantastic Four movie site, to be located at www.FantasticFourMovie.com should be up sometime today, along with the trailer, which debuted in theaters with Elektra - and was partially posted on this page.

Again, the staff would like to apologize to Game Informer Magazine for any harm we have done, and encourage our viewers to pick up the magazine - Issue #142.

You can Preorder 21 New Fantastic Four toys at Amazon. Although, no pictures are available... prices are!

According to the Comics Continuum, the trailer will be online on Monday with the launch of the film's official site.

Credit can include, but is certainly not limited to... Name, Link to your website (If you have one), E-Mail (If you wish to release it)... and pretty much anything you can think of.

Also, if you have a Fantastic Four scoop, please Contact either Webakin or myself.

Even though Julian McMahon didn't win in the category he was up for, his show - Nip / Tuck, which airs on F/X - won during the Golden Globes for Television's Best Drama. Congratulations on the win to the cast and crew of Nip / Tuck!

Teaser Information
Movie Box has up higher quality footage of the TRL and the Access Hollywood videos... which you can check out by clicking Here or directly at the links below.

TRL Footage
Access Hollywood Footage

Apparently, The Movie Box got the premium deal in the server department... unlike our fansite gone bonkers here, so we had to take the footage down temporarily to conserve what's left of our hamster-wheel-run server.

A scooper for SuperHero Hype! named 'diabolik' scanned this new picture from Entertainment Weekly of Michael Chiklis as The Thing in Fantastic Four who has a little encounter with a pigeon!

I tried scanning a higher quality picture of the Thing from EW... but I can say this - Diabolik has a better scanner then me.

Check the image out Here or in the Gallery.

One last thing... the 4 in the top left corner of this page links to the Fantastic Four Movie official website... or atleast where it will be, when it's up - So keep clicking and checking!

Video, New Pic of Doom, Official Site - Wednesday, & Ralph Winter Talks
There was a ton of Fantastic 4 news today, so you've come to the right place - Fantastic411 - Your source for F4 Info!

First up... MSN posted a video consisting of a scene from the Fantastic movie, and on set in Vancouver. The clip also includes interviews with each of the major cast including all of the Fantastic Four and their nemesis - Doctor Doom. Some of the inside of the set is shown, such as Doom's throne chair and Ben Grimm's quarters where he transformers and "goes out for some air". It's an excellent video worth checking out, so go watch it by clicking Here.

SuperHero Hype! scooper - Robert - sent in a picture of Julian McMahon as Dr. Doom without his costume on. Thanks to SHH! and Robert for posting the picture.

According to a poster from the Hollywood North Report Forums, the official Fantastic Four movie website will be online... Wednesday - January 12. The website is 95% done, and will go up at 9PM PST (12:00 midnight EST) or 13th at 6PM PST if testings generate errors. Let's hope this is true!

Also, someone who is 'close' to our own Webakin has said to keep an eye out, and the trailer will be out any day now so stay tuned!

Finally, the Comics Continuum posted this update about Ralph Winter, the producer of the movie.

Ralph Winter, producer of 20th Century Fox's Fantastic Four movie, told The Continuum that this week's first trailer will provide just a taste of the film. "Our first trailer is pretty exciting -- a glimpse at our effects and what is to come," Winter told The Continuum. "We like it and hope the fans do as well. "It is preliminary as we just finished shooting on Dec. 22. But it represents where we are going with the effects. It will only get better from here." The trailer will be attached with Elektra, which opens on Friday. According to a Fox representative, that is currently the only place where it can be seen.

Washington Talks
SuperHero Hype reported the following...

Columnists Marilyn Beck & Stacy Jenel Smith talked to "Ray" co-star Kerry Washington about starring in Fantastic Four.

"I play Alicia Masters, the blind girl who's in love with The Thing (Michael Chiklis)," says Washington about the movie.

To prepare for the part, the actress "did a lot of reading and studying, but after working with Jamie for so long, I learned what that experience of playing a blind person is like."

Rumors Untrue?
Regarding those recent Cinescape rumors about the production budget being raised $20 million... SuperHero Hype had this to say according to LightninStrikez'.

By the way, one of the fans in our forum has links to the FF production and he told me that some of the Cinescape article is a bit "exaggerated".

According to him, Fox is not worried about the comparisons between the "Fantastic Four" and the "Incredibles". The feedback from Fox was that the climax was a little limp compared to the rest of the film.

To ensure that the film would have the best conclusion/climax they shelled out another $20 mill, but not due to Elasticgirl, as the articles suggest.

The extra money was to differ Mr. Fantastic whose powers are similiar to that of Elasticgirl from the Pixar / Disney hit "The Incredibles".
