Alba Talks Sequel
IGN talked to Jessica "Sue Storm" Alba about more Fantastic Four movies.

Although Fantastic Four opened well and performed respectably this summer, Alba says she hasn't heard specifics about the film just yet. "I don't know… No, they honestly haven't called me yet about it..."

Fear not. Should more Fantastic Four films get the greenlight, Alba will be back in blue tights. She is signed for at least three films. Although full details are a ways off, Alba does have a bit of info for where Sue Storm might go. "Married. I think they need to get married. I know what the first 20 minutes of the movie are gonna be. It's really cool. They're getting married. Maybe I'm giving away too much, but yeah."

Alba says that the character is one of her favorite roles. "Sue Storm couldn't have been more conservative and nerdy and a little corny and, you know, soft in her opinions about things. Even when she was making a statement, she was still very prim and proper and I loved that about her. That was why I did a character like [that]..."

Sequel Talks
At the UK Premiere, members of the Fantastic Four talked about sequels to Empire Magazine, which could start filming next year.

The one thing that was on everybody's lips – especially given the extraordinary performance at the box office, was sequels. And if Gruffudd's words are a indication, it's all looking very good: "We've signed for two and three already, and it looks more than likely that we'll be shooting them even as early as next year."

"The good thing is it won't be an origin picture," said Chiklis, "So we can go right into storytelling, and depending on which villain we decide to go with, and which way we decide to go, we can get right into the crux of the story immediately."

Meanwhile, Ms Alba had her mind on more matters maternal "Tim put secrets in this movie that he's going to reveal in the next one, and I think we have to get the Fantasticar – that'd be cool… and I think we need some kids, at least by the third one, so Reed and Sue should get busy!"

Also, around the sequel news is Aint It Cool News, who recieved word from 'Ding' that...

Ioan Gruffudd revealed this morning on the BBC's Breakfast programme here in the UK, that he was contacted last week by the head of Fox, and informed that there would indeed be another Fantastic Four movie.

To check out all the news on the upcoming sequels, head on over to our Fantastic Four 2 page.

Avi Confirms F4 - The Sequel
According to the Los Angeles Times, Marvel Studios head Avi Arad confirmed a $56 million opening weekend confirms a sequel.

Avi Arad, chairman of Marvel Studios, sees the weekend as just the beginning of a long-term revenue stream for the company. "Of course, there will be a sequel," he said. "Now the constituency is much larger."

The $56 million box office over the 3-day period is helping the box office to get out of the 2005 slump, which has been ongoing for 19 weeks. The opening number beats out many comic book adaptions, including Batman Begins, which earned $48 million its first weekend on the way to a total of $172 million so far. Let's hope that the Fantastic Four can bring in final numbers like those as well.

Thanks to Superhero Hype for the heads up.
